About us

Carnoustie Golf Links Management Committee (CGLMC) has overseen the stewardship of Carnoustie’s historic golf courses for generations. Formed to manage the Links on behalf of the local community and Angus Council, the committee became a registered charity in 2014 to formalise its governance and strengthen its long-term commitment to public benefit.

In 2025, operational management of the golf courses transferred to a new private company, while CGLMC retained its charitable role and community responsibilities. Over the years, CGLMC has supported the growth of the Links into a world-class sporting venue while safeguarding its heritage and ensuring continued access for residents and visitors.

Today, CGLMC’s purpose extends beyond the courses themselves. As a charity, we promote participation in golf, enhance recreational facilities in Carnoustie, support arts and heritage initiatives, and help drive community development and environmental improvement across the town and the wider Angus area.

Through our Community Benefits Programme, the committee invests in local projects and works to ensure that the success of Carnoustie Golf Links delivers meaningful benefits for the whole community.

Since obtaining charitable status in 2014, CGLMC has donated nearly £400k. In 2023 alone it granted over £112k to 20 local groups, plus additional community contributions.
